Workplace ergonomics

Product development

Workplace design or modification

Our focus is on understanding user requirements and then working with your team to interpret these requirements into workplace design. Our involvement may sometimes be post installation when unforeseen user issues arise.

Ergonomics risk assessment
Using techniques such as observation, interview, and verbal protocol we can make an assessment of even complex tasks to assess and reduce the risks to staff or members of the public.

Policy and procedure development
We typically work with your team to identify and develop control measures, draft easy to use policies, procedures and in-house standards and work with you to develop management and communication strategies to ensure that these are put into practice.

Advising on access & design for disabled people
We can advise our clients with practical design solutions to ensure legal compliance and best practice for both workplaces and areas used by members of the public.

Health and safety
  • Policy and procedure development
  • Risk assessment & advising on legal compliance
  • Conducting audits & reviews
  • H&S workshops & briefings
  • Staff attitude surveys

Consumer research

We have devised methods to help our clients understand: Who are their customers? What are they like? What do they need, want and expect? Our strength lies in helping designers interpret and utilise this information.

Customer profiling and user specification
Understanding the physical and psychological characteristics of customers helps ensure that products fit and are widely accepted by the target audience. We use methods to ensure that these characteristics remain in the forefront throughout the design process.

Sourcing data
To help ensure that the product fits we can source anthropometric and psychological data and help your team interpret and apply standards & legislation.

User and product trials
To keep a check that design is meeting the specification, we can run user tests throughout the design process. These may be small informal tests using early mock-ups or more sophisticated prototypes for testing further into the development of the product.
